Casey's Got A Job!

Casey's corpse-like boss at the
Dragonfly Ranch in Hawaii. His previous
boss was hotter and had a nicer set.
Looks like our boi is now the manager of the "Ohana" at the Dragonfly Ranch in Hawaii.

The information comes from their latest newsletter, noting that "Casey, a young man of Russian origin, has taken on the huge task of ever so tactfully managing the Dragonfly ohana team. I am grateful to him for his brilliant optimistic energy combined with his calm and steady Virgo dedication to excellence—with love and joy."

The newsletter also includes a very old picture of Casey, when he still had some hair and a stupid goatee. It describes him as "our new handsome manager."

"Ohana" is Hawaiian for "family," but apparently using the word in English isn't cool enough for the owner of this place, who chooses to insert a variety of Hawaiian words into things at various times when it sounds cooler. Not that this is a terribly bad idea. We think calling Casey a wahahe‘e sounds pretty cool too.

The corpse-like individual who owns this place has an odd idea of family though. "Ohana" are apparently people who pay her for the privilege of working there, as detailed in the "join us" page. The same page says that anybody lacking a sense or humor need not apply. Which may help explain Casey's position there as nothing more than a huge practical joke on all the other ohana members indentured servants and paying customers, who presumably all have a sense of humor about their fate being in his hands.

Casey can be seen in the background of some activity at the "ranch" that most likely involves semi-vegan food, smoking weed, cleansing or something of that nature. No clue who the other morons are.
It is not clear exactly what an "Ohana manager" does, but he's obviously a member of the owner's power team. It doesn't sound like he has to do much. The place's page is pretty clear on the fact that it's dirty, musty, full of bugs and not particularly well-cleaned. That sounds about right for Casey, but hard to see anybody paying him for "managing" this. Maybe he's just getting a free cot in the wilderness.

Certainly, he's also getting a lot of other things he's claimed to care for. The "ranch" website is peppered with new-age bullshit of the highest order, including Caseyesque terms like "holistic," "healing arts," "cleansing," "colonic," "positive energies," "manifesting," "eco-tourism" and a whole bunch more, but we have to stop before anybody gets ill.

And that's the way it is at FalseCasey HQ, where we can shut the windows when it rains.

I doubt that Casey has been honest with his new employer, and she probably had no idea what she invited onto her slice of paradise. He probably got a reference from his bowtie-sporting valet gig while he was masquerading as Casey Konstantin. One little Google of Casey Serin, and the thieving little haole will have some 'splaining to do.

It's an island, though not his island. And it's 2012, though almost at the end.

25% success?

What a nightmare - having a "boss" who is an aging, pretentious, new-Agey, MLM tard. A perfect fate for Casey.

I'm sure he's not getting paid (aside from getting "free" Orenda fake medicine) - but bad food and bad housing is sufficient, I'm sure.

People really need to look at the "newsletter" - it's a hoot.

A sample:

"Another highlight for me was meeting up with yet another guest/friend, Catherine Gaze, in Southern England where she took me touring the latest crop circles that she helps ground with crystals and sound using a golden gilded crystal-singing bowl."

It sounds as if Barbara inherited a fair amount of money (how else could she own land in Hawaii?), but another clue for how she can afford to spend weeks in Europe comes here:

"Ginger has been my precious friend since I advised her in my role of Academic Advisor at Chico State University in 1970!"

Yep, she has one of the golden CALPERS pensions. That's a lot more plausible than her claim that:

"I have to be honest that being able to travel to Europe and not have to worry about paying my mortgage (thanks to Orenda International)"

Yeah, I'm sure she's making millions from her downline.

Funniest of all:

"Now that I no longer have to concern myself with the details of running the Dragonfly Ranch,"

She's outsourced the "details of running the Dragonfly Ranch" to Casey Serin. Casey Serin.

LOL. LOL. LOL. LOL...

Anonymous said...

...hmmm - given that she moved to Hawaii in 1974, I guess she doesn't have a CALPERS pension.

However, she has had difficulty finding a sucker - er - seeker - to take her place off her hands for a doubtless absurdly inflated price.

Dragonfly Ranch Hosts 35th Anniversary/Retirement Party/
Open House on December 6

by Russell Phelps

Dragonfly Ranch: HEALING ARTS CENTER, an award-winning Bed and Breakfast/eco-spa in Honaunau, is celebrating its 35th anniversary at an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday, December 6th.

“After 65 revolutions around the sun I have decided it is time to turn over my creation to wonderful new stewards,” says “soul” proprietor, Barbara Moore. As she retires, she is looking for a unique way to search the world for the best new owners for her “green” paradisiacal sanctuary. Moore plans to make Dec. 6th the opening of a world-wide writing contest to find these ideal owners.

----

But, even if she couldn't sell it, she still hired Casey to run it, so itsallgood.

Given the location, right next to a Hawaiian historic/religious site, I'd be willing to bet that the development opportunities are close to zero. Over the course of a few decades, she's managed to build a ramshackle bunch of buildings without attracting much opposition or attention, but I suspect anybody looking at the property realizes that it's pretty worthless except as a venue for promoting MLM sales to her "guests."

And she probably also wanted to put some bizarre stipulations in the deed about how it has to remain a vegan, holistic, healing whatever, and not be developed into anything anybody would want to live in or could make money from.

Actually, upon further review, Barbara Moore is one of the more interesting people in the Casey saga.

She may appear to be a drooling New Ager, but she's successfully run a hotel for thirty years, which implies a certain level of competence.

Consider: she has come up with a shtick that allows her to charge fairly high prices for terrible food, terrible accommodations, and acquires staff basically without paying them.

If you read through the reviews of Dragonfly Ranch, she is constantly upselling her guests on massages, dolphin dives, crystal healings, and other New Age claptrap, and flies into a rage if any of her staff suggests an activity to guests that she doesn't get a cut of.

And most of the guests seem to love it.

Who knows where she got enough money to take multi-month trips to Europe, but her lunacy appears to end where her wallet begins.

And no, she wasn't going to require that the purchasers of the Ranch continue to run it as a vegan retreat:

"While she would like to see her beloved “expansion mansion” and organic garden continue being a place of magical healing, Moore says, “I am not requiring that the new owners continue operating a B&B/eco-spa. I welcome individuals as well as organizations to contact me about owning this blessed place.”

Like a lot of women, she overestimated the value of her property, and thought that her New Age shtick would work as well on a million dollar real estate transaction as renting out a scruffy room for the night.

That may not have worked, but any bets that Casey's "pay" is being able to "market" the property? You know he would go for that in a nanosecond.

Hah - she's as big a grifter as Casey. She's just, apparently, much better at it than he is. I wonder how much that dimwitted mark is paying to 'manage'? Does he pay more, or less?

Casey IS on an island, so he made that happen, but fucking hell what a mark.

This is exactly what Casey has been looking for: new-agey island life with real estate potential. I guess The Secret and the Daily Miraclz stuff really works after all!

as for Dragon Fly Ranch, that is on Bishop Estate land, so it is leased ag land. Very low taxes, $371.00 per year. http://www.hawaiipropertytax.com/Forms/Datalets.aspx?mode=PROFILEALL_HAWAII&sIndex=3&idx=2&LMparent=20

Interesting, and according to this, the normal leases are 35 years, which would suggest her time is getting close to being up. Renewals are of course common, but not guaranteed, depending on the use and whether or not the actual owners think they're getting a sufficient cut of the proceeds.

http://www.hawaiilife.com/articles/2010/01/what-is-a-leasehold-farm/

We're quite willing to bet that a huge chunk of her earnings (certainly all the Orenda University crap, but probably also her dolphin dives and other off-site activiites) end up not being in the basket of things she has to pay royalties on.

Ha! That would explain why she's willing to entrust the place to Casey Serin. It's probably worth more as an insurance claim than as property right now.

Good job, anon. I remember looking this place up months ago on Zillow and everything around it that was for "sale" was also Bishop land, This place next door sold for $17k in 2010. http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/84-5130-Keala-O-Keawe-Rd-Captain-Cook-HI-96704/575184_zpid/

IIRC, Dragonfly has a really weird lot line, it's like a narrow panhandle with a little bit of road frontage but Zillow has changed since the last time I looked it up and I can't get it to give me the exact lot. Sowwy.

P.S. I've missed you FC guys. :)

I think "wahine" is also applicable. In fact, Casey might already be some lucky, well-built Hawaiian gentleman's wahine as we speak...

Can anyone else here do the math?

"You are all invited to a celebration and “prayerformance” by Rashani today--Friday, November 2nd.

My 68th birthday and the 38th anniversary of the Dragonfly Ranch!"

Maybe she and or her business have overstayed their welcome already.

One thing that I don't think has been noted:

On campidiot, someone posted how to view all the Casey vs. Cashcall legal documents.

Casey was served with documents on Halloween, 2010. Was the process server wearing a costume?

It was done at 4:20 PM - Dude!

The process server was Anthony Piazza.

I bet Tony is pretty good at his job.

I have been following this train wreck for 6 years now, and it still fascinates me. I still cant help but laugh whenever I drive by a Jamba Juice. SWEET

Does he still have a job?

Casey has a new "job" in Haines, Ak making the same pay (zero) as he was making in Hawaii. Inspired Eagle Eco B&B, which has a website but no server, it briefly made an appearance as "hainesguesthouse.com" but he's now removed the content. :) CI has what little info we gathered prior to his take down.

Update from the Big Island:

Casey has flown the coop.

It appears he wasn't big on keeping books or any form of financial records during his management of the Dragon Fly.

He was also apparently incapable of maintaining eye contact when discussing the subject of "Where did the money go, Casey??"

Casey was last seen headed to Alaska with "some dude he just met".

Casey's twitter account is active again. It looks like he's branding himself as a real estate photographer.

Bear in Mind the Hawaii real estate market is heterogeneous just like the California real estate market.

Oahu is as expensive as malibu and places on the big island on the dry parts are as cheap as fresno.

Thats also the way to view places on the dry side.

I had an associate who bought a place on the big island up above the rain layer for 30K. Including the house. He had to pay to get water trucked in, he had to have solar panels for power, and it was a lava road so he was buying new tires every year.

I'm just checking in after all this time to see what the hell the snowflake is up to. Poor thing. Driven to a life of vagrancy by us Haterz... I wonder, a year later, if murse-boy is still working at this wonderful place (if it's still in business). Hm. Anyway, a hey-yo to my old friends. <3 <3 <3 Stephanie J.

D'oh, would've helped to see the comments. As assumed, he didn't last too long. A whopping few months. Alaska bound now it seems. Maybe he'll hook up with Sarah Palin, and let the combined mass of their stupid create a black hole.
